Set one year after the explosion of Flight 180, the story follows college student (played by A.J. Cook). While traveling to Daytona Beach for spring break, Kimberly has a terrifying premonition of a massive pile-up on Route 23 caused by a logging truck.
By stalling her car on the on-ramp, she prevents several strangers from entering the highway, saving them from the disaster. However, as the survivors begin to die in freak accidents, Kimberly realizes that Death is reclaiming those who were supposed to die on the highway—in the reverse order of their original deaths. To survive, she seeks help from (Ali Larter), the sole survivor of the first film, who has institutionalized herself for safety.
